Rise in Temporary and Contract Staffing Employment
Staffing Index Monthly Report: May 2007
At 100 for the week of May 7–13, the ASA Staffing Index has remained steady for a second week, following a gradual upward push in temporary and contract staffing employment over the past month. The index incrementally grew over a three week period, increasing from 98 for the week of April 16–22, to 99 for the week of April 23–29, to value of 100 for the week of April 30–May 6 where it now remains. The May index suggests that staffing employment is now at the same level as the week of June 12, 2006, when the index was first introduced at 100.
The ASA Staffing Index estimates weekly changes in the number of people employed in temporary and contract work.
