A Profile of Temporary and Contract Employees:
Who They Are and What They Do
In 2006, the American Staffing Association conducted a comprehensive landmark survey of staffing employees. With 13,196 then-current or former staffing employees from 186 member companies, it was the most extensive sample ever surveyed of the target population.
Survey findings revealed that U.S. staffing employees are satisfied with their work experiences; nine of 10 staffing employees would refer a friend or relative to work as a temporary or contract employee. The survey also found that three-quarters of staffing employees see temporary and contract work as a path to a permanent job.
