Requirements

To maintain CSP™ or TSC™ designations, certified individuals must complete at least 30 hours of approved continuing education every three years. At least six of the 30 CE hours must pertain to employment law.

View the CE requirements for additional information regarding deadlines and the continuing education approval process.

Reporting Continuing Education Hours

You can use ASAPro to submit continuing education credits for coursework completed outside of ASA and ASAPro. Simply click on My Account to log-in and then select CE Submission form under My CE Summary to report any additional completed coursework. You can view a report of your CE credits every time you log-in to ASAPro, taking the guesswork out of maintaining your designation. Updated reports are available on ASAPro 10 business days after your submission.

CE hours may be earned only by participating in courses or programs that are approved by ASA. Generally these will be educational activities offered by ASA, its chapters, or approved educational providers that are specifically developed for the CSP or TSC programs. However, other programs and activities, such as staffing firm in-house training programs and college courses, may be eligible for CE credit.

Opportunities To Earn Continuing Education Hours

Events and Webinars
Each year, ASA offers staffing professionals numerous opportunities to participate in educational activities that qualify for continuing education credit. Staffing World®, recruiting symposium, Staffing Law Conference, and InterAction Webinar attendees have enhanced their knowledge, stayed up-to-date on the latest changes in employment law, and earned continuing education hours to maintain their CSP and TSC designations—all at once. View a list of upcoming ASA educational events.
Chapters
Contact your state or local ASA-affiliated chapter to learn more about upcoming educational programs.
Approved Continuing Education Providers
View the directory of ASA approved continuing education providers to find contact information for companies and individuals who have been preapproved by ASA to provide continuing education. All staffing industry related programs offered by approved providers automatically qualify for continuing education hours for CSP and TSC designations.

Providers must submit programs covering employment law topics to ASA before the program commences to be evaluated for employment law continuing education approval. If your company offers training programs to the staffing industry, you may be eligible to become an ASA approved continuing education provider.

Recordings
Recordings of educational programs previously offered by ASA are now available on ASAPro, the new ASA online professional development center—including Staffing World workshops and InterAction Webinars. These programs qualify for passive continuing education hours based on the length of the recording. Some programs qualify for legal continuing education hours.
Certification Learning Guide

The learning guide is a flexible tool designed to help individuals or groups prepare for the ASA certification exams. Certified staffing professionals can use the learning guide to earn more than six hours of legal continuing education toward maintaining their CSP or TSC designations.

The printed guide organizes the content of ASAPro certification preparation courses into learning tracks and expands on the recordings by addressing key exam topics such as co-employment; pre-employment; and wages, workplace safety, and termination. The TSC learning guide also covers legal issues applicable exclusively to technical, IT, and scientific staffing firms.

Each section includes learning activities designed to increase understanding and retention. Purchase the learning guide today.

State Certification Workbooks

Update your designation and demonstrate to your clients that you are knowledgeable about state-specific labor and employment law. Purchase a state certification workbook and pass the corresponding state exam, and earn 1 1/2 legal continuing education hours.

This workbook covers state employment law only, and includes case studies and study questions pertinent to the selected state. The online version also includes a practice exam with sample questions, and is interactive to help you prepare for the online exam.

Non-ASA Courses and Recordings
Other programs and activities, such as staffing firm in-house training programs and college courses, may be eligible for CE credit. Submit a request for preapproval to ASA.
