Attorney Bradford Livingston, partner in the Chicago office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, will recap his highly rated session from the 2009 ASA staffing law conference. He’ll review recent trends in union activity, explain current rules for organizing workers, and discuss legal and regulatory changes now being pursued by organized labor. The Employee Free Choice Act, for example, would largely abolish secret ballots in union elections, making it easier to organize your clients’ employees. Certain supervisory employees could be reclassified to allow them to become unionized, and the National Labor Relations Board could reinstate rules that would permit your temporary employees to be included in a client’s bargaining unit without your consent. This Webinar will help you inform and advise your clients about how union plans threaten their businesses, and what they can and cannot do about organizing activities on their doorsteps and in their shops.
