River Ride, River Walk
Oct. 9, 11 a.m.–4 p.m., $70 members, $95 nonmembers
Come aboard a river barge for a tour of the San Antonio river walk, the Paseo Del Rio. Disembark for a tour of the Alamo, and then take a short trip to El Mercado at Market Square to enjoy lunch and shopping on your own. Next stop: the award-winning Buckhorn Saloon and Museum. Belly up to the bar where Teddy Roosevelt recruited Rough Riders and marvel at the exhibits portraying wildlife and the Wild West. Transportation included. Missions and Margaritas
Oct. 9, 12 noon–5:30 p.m., $85 members; $110 nonmembers
The legacy and history of San Antonio began in 1718 with the establishment of Spanish communities called missions. Take in the architectural beauty of the most attractive missions in Texas (including Mission Concepción, San José, and San Juan Capistrano), tour the Alamo, and enjoy lunch and margaritas at Aldaco's Mexican restaurant in the historic train depot Sunset Station. Texas Trail Ride
Oct. 9, 1–5 p.m., $90 members, $115 nonmembers
Saddle up for a wrangler-guided trail ride at Lightning Ranch. Whether you're a city slicker or an old cowhand, the ranch has a horse for your level of experience. On the trail, you'll see deer, jackrabbits, even an occasional armadillo. Later, enjoy horseshoes, shuffleboard, and volleyball. Transportation included.
