Review Session and Exam Oct. 8-9

Don’t want to miss all those continuing education hours available at Staffing World 2007? Then take the exam and earn your designation before the convention begins. Stephen Dwyer, ASA deputy general counsel, will lead an exam review session, first outlining everything you need to know for the exam, then taking your questions. You’ll need to order your materials and study ahead of time, but this is the best way to get your questions answered and take the exam while the information is fresh in your mind.

It’s easy—just follow three simple steps:

  • Register for the review session and exam, and purchase materials before the convention. Study in advance.
  • Participate in the 2.5-hour review session covering state and federal employment and labor law.
  • Take the exam, which includes a section on state employment law, the next morning while the information is fresh in your mind.

The review session is free with the purchase of a full convention and expo package. Otherwise, fees are $79 for ASA members and $150 for nonmembers.

Throughout the convention, display your new designation on your name badge as you earn continuing education hours for each education session you attend.

Already certified? Attend the review session as a refresher and earn 2.5 employment law CE hours toward renewing your CSP and TSC designations.

Continuing Education

All CSP or TSC certified professionals will earn continuing education hours at every convention education session.

Staffing World is a great opportunity for professional development, and you can earn more than half the CE hours required to keep your certification current. The workshops, keynotes, and Knowledge Network are worth up to 15.75 hours collectively, and you can add another 2.5 hours by attending the certification exam review session Oct. 8. Remember, you need 30 hours every three years to renew your designations. Six of those hours must be in employment law—five employment law hours are available at Staffing World. If you also attend the certification exam review session, you will earn enough employment law hours to satisfy your legal continuing education requirement.

Claiming credit is easy. When you check in at the convention registration desk, you’ll receive a series of cards—one for every CE opportunity available during your stay. Each card includes a bar code unique to you. Simply drop one card in the CE collection container near the exit as you leave a keynote, workshop, Knowledge Network, or exam review session. ASA provides CE tracking forms at the ASA Pavilion, Booth 339 in the expo hall, so you can easily monitor hours earned.
